Picnic at the River Along with two other families, we packed up the grill, a couple of dogs, hamburgers and hot dogs, and plenty of marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate for s'mores and went to the Linville River Picnic Area off the Blue Ridge Parkway for a cookout Tuesday evening.

This part of North Carolina has some of the most beautiful natural scenery anywhere. My family and I love spending time at our Gingercake Acres cabin and exploring the surrounding forests, creeks, and river.
