Morganton and Burke County, North Carolina are making genuine efforts to preserve our character and heritage through historic properties, so it is encouraging to see individuals find new uses for old structures.
Congratulations to Dr. Howard Hall on his renovation of the old nurses' dorm on S. King Street into beautiful, modern, downtown office space for his practice. "The Elms" was built in 1920's or 1930's and served as staff housing for the adjacent Grace Hospital, where CoMMA now stands.
We live in an area rich with natural and architectural beauty. Dr. Hall's new office is an inspiring example of how a gorgeous old piece of Morganton real estate can be preserved and transformed at the same time.
