Lake James - Morganton, NC
The arrival of the warmer weather has brought Lake James out of hibernation. House showing activity is increasing as the allure of the lake's long summer days is just around the corner. The lake is at full pond, with all the boating access areas open for the season.
Spring weather has brought out the blooms of dogwoods, azaleas and buttercups. We're all waiting for the last possibility of frost so we can plant our vegetable gardens.
The lake water is still too cool to swim, however I did get to swim at the end of last April on a hot and sunny day. The year before last, warm weather lasted until November as I was able to take a quick dip just after Halloween. Normally, the water is great from mid May into early October.
