Magical Morganton, NC
It is that magical time of year again! The City of Morganton has hung the snowflake lights on every light post in town, the trees are all sparkling with white lights, and Santa is keeping hours on the historic Burke County Courthouse Square. Our picturesque small town of 17,000 or so is transformed into a winter wonderland. The annual 2007 Morganton Christmas parade is Tuesday, December 4th. The streets will be lined with families watching the firetrucks, floats decorated by school children, bands, horses, and of course, Santa and his sleigh. What a wonderful sense of community we feel in these small town moments! Morganton, North Carolina, rated recently as one of the top 10 places to raise a family by Reader's Digest, certainly lives up to its reputation in this joyous season. I am very proud to call Morganton and Burke County home.
